Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge

Happy Wednesday prettie people! Are yall ready for for Turkey Day? I think I am lol! Well, it's time for another Wednesday Challenge from Paper Pretties! This week we had an inspiration challenge. This picture was our inspiration. You can find all the details for the challenge on The Paper Clip.

This week the challenge came from our Prettie Mama Christie! She challenged us to use this picture as our inspiration for our card. If you got here from Wendy's blog, awesome! If not, start at Christie's because I know you don't want to miss out on this blog hop!

For my card, I chose to use Bubble Time Sohpia. I really loved these colors and had a lot of fun putting them together to make many color combinations. I finally decided on the blue and purple. The patterned paper was a little more difficult. I really had hoped that I had some paper with peace signs on it but of course, I didn't lol. As for the image, don't you just love this Sophia?? I think she is just adorable! She was a lot of fun to color as well! Doesn't  it just make you want to get your stamps out and get them all inked up lol? You could win a $15 gift certificate to use at Paper Pretties!

Ok, so here are the details on how to enter:  Make a card following the challenge guidelines with any Paper Pretties stamps. Upload the card to the Paper Pretties gallery. Please include it in the Weekly Challenges album and use keyword PWC79. The deadline is 6 PM EST Tuedsay, December 1st. Your prize is a $15.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique. Now get to makin that card! What are ya waitin for?? Now head on over to Jane's blog to see what she had done! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all enjoy the time with friends and family and please remember our troops and those less fortunate!

BEWARE OF EBAY

Hi everyone! Today my post has noting to do with cards, well sort of but not like you would think. I want to make you aware of Ebay scams that are going on and how I have been taken advantage of. Then end of October, I listed my Cricut Die Cut system and a lot of other accessory items that went with it. All together if you were to purchase these as brand new it would cost a little over $1000. I opened the auction at $199 and a Buy It Now price of $499. The item was purchased at the $499 price. I had placed several pictures of all of the items up for bid. The buyer at even contacted me and asked questions about the items for sale. The buyer paid for the items when the auction ended but not buy insurance for the items. My husband and I packed the items up and mailed them the very next day. A few days later I received an email from the buyer saying that parts were missing and what was I going to do about it. I stated that I didn't understand how this could be because when I shipped the items they were ALL there! She was very persistent with her emails and each time she told me what was missing, the items were different. This raised a big red flag to me. Then she told me that the box was torn up and did I want pictures? Well how easy to put holes in a box and take pictures, right? I of course said yes I would like to see the pictures but I never recieved them. Then I received the email that made me really mad. She wanted me to refund her some of the money for the missing items that were not missing when I sent the package. I told her that I was not refunding any of the money because IF she had purchased insurance we could have claimed it with the postal service. Yesterday, I received an email from Ebay that they were reviewing the case and would follow up with me in 48 hours. This morning I received an email saying that they had refunded $514.30 to the buyer on "my behalf" and I needed to set up some sort of refund payment to clear up the balance on my account. Um excuse me??? Did  I not get a chance to state my side in the matter? They refunded the money on my behalf without talking to me first? Seriously! After I calmed down a little, I sent Ebay and email back explaining how upset I was and that if they were going to refund the money, then I wanted the items back and in the exact same condition that they were sent in. In return Ebay sent me an email saying the case was closed and they would follow up with me in 48 hours. Then it occurred to me to Google Ebay complaints. That took me to Consumer Affairs website where I began to lear so much! Did you know that Ebay and Paypal are the same company? I didn't! To my surprise there are scammers that are finding auctions, buying the items. then after they receive them, they begin to say how the items were damaged or not as described. They keep on making a scene then turn it over to Ebay and ALL money is refunded AND they KEEP the items!!!! The money refunded is automatically taken out of your account with Paypal! How convenient huh? You would not believe all of the complaints on Ebay. I also learned that if this is a scam, you will not be able to leave feedback. Well guess what? I can't leave feedback on this person. My feedback options were Positve or Leave Feedback Later. Also I checked this buyers Positive Feedback and Feedback Rating and they were a big fat 0! No items were ever purchased with this username! The account was also established on November 8, 2008 and funny that my items were purchased on November 4, 2009. This just keeps getting better! By this time I am fuming! I have now filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs and I am hoping that one of their attorneys contacts me. I am one of the lucky few that Ebay could not withdrawl money from my Refund Method on file because the expiration date on my credit card had passed. Ha ha ha ha! My Paypal account is now deleted and I will NEVER have another one.  Soon my Ebay account will be deleted too. Please be aware of this scam. You never really know who you are purchasing items from and who you are selling too! I'm sure that they will come after me one way or another for the money they feel they are owed but maybe they should have thought about refunding that money "on my behalf" before they did it!

So You Think Elf

Good Saturday morning! Well, my 2 daughters and I went to see New Moon last night and I must say it was EXCELLENT!! I haven't seen Twilight yet but New Moon was outstanding! Why I haven't watched Twilight, I have no clue because we have the movie and 2 sets of the collectors editiotions that have all 4 books. I guess I just haven't wanted to jump on that band wagon yet but guess what? I'm on it now! Now I can't wait to see Eclipse! I think I am going to start reading Twilight this afternoon so I can completely understand. If you have seen New Moon, let me know what your favorite part was. I have several!

Ok, on to the card I made for today. This is So You Think Elf from DZ Doodles.  He has a bit of attitude huh? He was for the New Release last weekend that I missed. Yes, I had a blonde moment. This little guy was fun to color and I wanted it to be some other colors than red and green. Which those colors kept popping into my mind so it was really hard to come up with something else. Well I hope you like him an be sure to check back! Have an awesome Saturday!

Hello my friends!!

Hi everyone! I'm back, finally! The fam is finally getting well and leave it to me to be the last one to get sick. Ugh! I don't have much of a voice BUT I am feeling better, thank goodness.

I must have been feeling better because I made 3 cards!!! It was withdrawals lol. For this first card, I used a Whimsey Doodle image that is just adorable! She is called Witchy Girl and I love her attitude! ( I love me some attitude) This was made for a friend's birthday that is on Halloween day and this was a perfect fit! She was colored with my SU markers and I used my new Spellbinders Large Circles Nestabilities! Ok, I'm hooked now! I haven't had any of these until now and I must say how much fun they are to use! Wowzaaaaa! I want or should I say, NEED, MUST HAVE more!!! For the paper, I couldn't tell you what the DP is because it was some I got at a craft store. The orange, black and green came from SU, along with the ribbon.

For my second card, this is another image from Whimsey Doodles! It's called Ghoul Friends and aren't these the cutest mice you've ever seen??? Soooo stinkin cute! The little sentiment button is also from Whimsey Doodles which is totally awesome because you can re size it, and you will see what I mean in my next card. The DP is also from the craft store and don't know the designer. Other colors of paper were from SU. I also used my scallop punch and some white ribbon.

Ok, for the last card, this is where I was talking about how cool the sentiment buttons are. I made this one bigger and LOVE it! Once again, I used my new Nestabillities Large Circles. These are the coolest things!!
To cut out the white circle, I used my SU circle cutter that I have had for several (and I do mean several) months and NEVER used! I guess I have been a little intimidated by it so therefore, I have avoided using it! There is a little bit of a learning curve with it and I did ruin a few of my circles before I got the perfect one. Derek said I was being to picky lol. Oh well, I finally got one I liked. (Sticking my tongue out lol) For this card, the card stock came from SU and the DP is from the craft store so who knows. Sorry! Anyway, thanks so much for checking things out and I'm so glad to be back to my card making! I feel human again lol. One last thing, University of TX plays Oklahoma University tomorrow. HOOK'EM HORNS!!!!!!! GO UT!!!!!

Stamp of the Month!

Ahhhhhh...it's Thursday!! I'm so excited to show you the card that I made with my Stamp of the Month from Paper Pretties! She was so much fun to color!! Let me tell you, I LOVE the Kaleidoscope DSP from SU!! I will definitely be ordering more of this paper. I just love the colors in it! If you haven't checked out the SOTH club at Paper Pretties, you need to! You get these fab stamps each month for a very low price. Get over there now and I sign up for it. You will love it!!!

So to make the card, I used Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, and Pixie Pink. Along with white brads, a corner punch and ribbon.

Once again, don't forget the DZ Doodle release on Saturday! There will be some very cool new digital images revealed and you don't want to miss it! Each of the DT members will be doing a different image so it will be fun to see what each of us has done! Well, my friend's, I'm off to bed for tonight. More crafting tomorrow. Have a good evening! Toodles!
